Pam Schoening, OTR/L, CHT
Pam graduated with a degree in occupational therapy from the University of Toronto in Canada in 1992. Pam has worked in the hand therapy field for over twenty years and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2001. She was integral in the development of a Hand Therapy program at a clinic in Dallas, TX. She also worked as a therapist at the Reno Hand Center for over ten years of which she was the lead and senior therapist for 3 years. In addition, she has completed formal training in the management of lymphedema. Pam is an avid skier and hiker and enjoys spending her free time with her children.

Christine Niho, OTR/L, CHT
Christine completed her Bachelorís degree at UCLA graduating Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1998. She went on to earn her Masterís in occupational therapy at Columbia University and completed a hand therapy internship at San Francisco General Hospital. After working at California Pacific Medical Center, Davies and Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, she became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2006. Prior to founding Nevada Hand Therapy, she worked at the Reno Hand Center for 4 years. In her free time, Christine enjoys skiing, mountain biking, and playing tennis.

Kristina Henderson, Office Manager
Kristina Henderson is a native to Reno, Nevada. She is a certified Office Specialist and an insurance specialist who has been working in the industry for 18 years. She loves spending time outdoors with her family camping, water skiing, boating and spending time at the family cabin. She also coaches soccer and is a DIY guru.

Brenda Brumit, Patient Care Coordinator
Originally from San Jose, CA, Brenda relocated to Reno to be closer to family and grandkids. She loves spending time with her family, while watching them off road cross county racing. She also enjoys camping and anything outdoors. In her spare time, Brenda loves walking and pampering her dog.

Denise Bowness, OTR/L, CHT
Denise attended the University of Louisiana, Monroe on a full waterskiing scholarship where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy. She worked in various practice settings from pediatrics to hospital based acute care, until she decided to specialize in hand therapy. In addition to becoming a Certified Hand Therapist in 2000, Denise founded and developed the hand therapy program in Truckee at Tahoe Forest Hospital where she currently acts as the lead therapist. She worked alongside Christine and Pam at the Reno Hand Center. Denise was the Coach of the US Disabled Water Ski team from 1999 to 2009 and has achieved a Level 2 Adaptive Snow Sports Instructor status. In her free time, Denise can be found snow skiing, running, shooting photography, and spending time with her husband and dog, Jake.

Michelle Galanopoulos, OTR/L, CHT
Michelle Galanopoulos received her B.S. degree in Biology from Iowa State University in 1995 and her Masterís Degree in Occupational Therapy in 1998 from Midwestern University. She became a CHT in 2004 after several years of work under a hand surgeon with University of Chicago Hospitals. Before joining Nevada Hand Therapy, Michelle worked as a hand therapist in Chicago, Dallas, and Sonoma. In her free time Michelle enjoys running, cycling, and cooking and has a degree in the culinary arts from the prestigious CIA!

Laura Forbes, OTR/L
Laura graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2010 with her Bachelorís in Biology. Most recently, she finished her Masterís degree at Midwestern University in Arizona and is currently working towards becoming a Certified Hand Therapist. Laura brings a fresh and enthusiastic approach to Hand Therapy and enjoys staying active in her time off. As a third generation Nevadan, she enjoys taking advantage of the local outdoor activities with her husband and dog, Ethyl. On any weekend you might find Laura hiking, snow skiing, wake boarding, camping, or fishing.

Monica Bane, OTR/L
Monica grew up competitive waterskiing in Brandon, Mississippi. After spending time around adaptive sports, she knew she wanted to work with people with life changing injuries and disabilities. After attending the University of Alabama and graduating from Western Carolina University with a degree in Recreational Therapy, she worked at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA with patients with spinal cord and brain injuries. She then went on to the Occupational Therapy program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and graduated in 2012. With the goal of becoming a Certified Hand Therapist, she began practicing hand therapy at Nevada Hand Therapy in 2012. When she is not working, Monica loves spending time with her husband, young son, and their American Bulldog, Bella.

Cindy Hartman, OTR/L
Cindy is a native to the Reno/Tahoe area. Although she has lived throughout the country, she moved back "home" to the area in 2014. Cindy graduated from Texas Woman's University in Dallas with her Masters of Occupational Therapy degree. She believes life is lived and experienced through a person's hands, so she has an avid interest in helping people with hand and upper extremity injuries and is working towards her Certified Hand Therapist credential. In addition to work, she loves being a mom to three wonderful children. Her outside interests include day hiking, backpacking, camping, mountain biking, horseback riding, kayaking, running, going to the gym, taking road trips, and reading and learning about science.

Angela Fluitt BS, OTR/L, CHT
Angela received her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy from University of Louisiana at Monroe, Monroe, LA. She received her Hand Therapy Certification in 2004, and has been working closely with various local surgeons in the Carson City area since 1999. She currently works as a hand therapist for Barton Hand Therapy and is the primary hand therapist for the Carson City satellite clinic. In her spare time, Angie works for Nevada Hand Therapy as a per diem therapist and enjoys making jewelry, reading, and traveling.

Jana Mortellaro BS/MS, OTR/L, CHT
Jana received her Bachelorís and Masterís of Science in Occupational Therapy from DíYouville College in Buffalo, NY. She completed a clinical hand internship at Johnís Hopkinís Hospital, in Baltimore, MD. Jana identified a lack of hand therapy services in the Lake Tahoe area in1997, and began to offer, build and expand the Hand Therapy services that Barton Healthcare offers today. She received her Hand Therapy Certification in 2002, and is currently the Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Supervisor for Barton Healthcare in South Lake Tahoe. In her free time, Jana works as a per diem therapist for Nevada Hand Therapy and enjoys skiing, tennis, running, and spending time with her family.

Nikki Grose, Ergonomist, CEAS I
Nikki attended the University of Nevada, Reno where she obtained her dual Bachelor's degree in English and Political Science, as well as a Master's degree in English. As our Ergonomist and work station consultant, she provides on-site work evaluations on site in order to assess the functionality and safety of work environments. In her spare time she teaches English courses at UNR and TMCC and spends time with her husband, two step-daughters, two young sons, and her pack of dogs.
